L’Oscar Boutique Hotel Southampton Row London:Grade II listed former church designed by architect Jacques Garcia: Team of cabinet makers, conservationist and restorers and french polishers. 14 month project.
To document and label all panelling, skirting, mouldings and doors, to remove all original panelling to the three main areas of the hotel. The main reception, the lobby and the restaurant and bar. More than half of the panels had to be replicated as the original. The remaining panels were restored. Cleaning all perished polish and reviving the colour. All new areas of panelling were made at our workshop/studio and taken onsite to be installed and the colour and finish matched to the original panels. All materials conformed to conservation and fire rating specifications. The restoration of 8 fireplaces in the hotel rooms consisted of cleaning marble, tile plaster and stone surrounds and restoring relief work and colour. Replacing missing carvings and plaster.
